you forgot to mention EMC (basically a merge of segra's DST;) & text strings :P

Also it supports graphics scaling (scale2x, scale2x3, scale2x4, scale3x & scale4x) and sound sample rate conversion (aka interpolation)

to enhance your output result! ;)

Well, the main purpose of this thread is to list tools that allow to modify the original game, I guess this particular feature only applies to engine recreation/remake projects - or did you mean that extracted images can be scaled? (For Dune 2, you can use scaling filters in DOSBox anyway)

when you decode graphic using eastwood, you can specify that you like to

scale it to bigger sizes using scale2x (http://scale2x.sourceforge.net/) to get nicer

looking graphics than you'd otherwise would when scaling it.

Same goes for sound, which you can resample it to higher frequencies and make

it sound better using libsamplerate (http://www.mega-nerd.com/SRC/).

here you can see some examples of these options for eastwood:

[peroyvind@localhost tmp]$ eastwood --cps --help

Usage: eastwood --cps [options] arg

Options:

-h, --help            show this help message and exit

  -o OUTPUT, --output=OUTPUT

                        save to OUTPUT

  -p PALFILE, --pal=PALFILE

                        PAL

  --scale=SCALE        Scale graphics using either '2x', '2x3', '2x4', '3x'

                        or '4x'

  --cps=CPSFILE        CPS

[peroyvind@localhost tmp]$ eastwood --voc --help

Usage: eastwood --voc [options] arg

Options:

-h, --help            show this help message and exit

  -o OUTPUT, --output=OUTPUT

                        save to OUTPUT

  --voc=VOCFILE        VOC

  Resampling options:

    --resample=RESAMPLE

                        Resample sound using either 'linear',

                        'zero_order_hold', 'sinc_fastest',

                        'sinc_medium_quality', or 'sinc_best_quality'

    -f FREQUENCY, --frequency=FREQUENCY

                        Resample to FREQUENCY hz

    -c CHANNELS, --channels=CHANNELS

                        Resample to CHANNELS channels

    -F FORMAT, --format=FORMAT

Resample to FORMAT format, either u8, s16be or s16le

Cool!!!

Its very nice to see somebody is still interested in Dune II game...

I was passing by and saw mentioning of our little scenario editor ;))) Dune II: The Building of A Scenario.. What was a time...

It was real adventure to decode all the formats and structures in this game 17 years ago... ;)))

Hello, and welcome! :) Sometimes people who have been doing some Dune 2 modding or editing drop by, others cheesy.gif

Can i help to the project somehow?

Well, testing, feedback and suggestions are always welcome :) Take a look and see what can be of interest you.

Oh, and if you happen to have a fully functional Dune 2 SHP encoder, that would be just awesome  Ultraq's tools lack some functionality when it comes to SHPs with remapable colours (e.g. buttons on the production screen).

BTW, OpenDUNE Forums is also a place of interest to visit wink.gif

Also, some of the projects are featured on Old-Games.RU Forums:

Dune 2 Fix (for the Russian version)

Hi folks, I have a problem using the XCC Mixer, maybe you can hint me to a solution there. I am trying to get the bene and intro images to use the correct palette, but I can't get this to work. I tried setting the Dune 2 directory in the View -> Directories dialog, but when I close and restart the XCC Mixer, the directory is empty again and I cannot select any palette.

Does anyone have a hint on how to get the XCC Mixer to work? Where does it store its settings, could this be a problem with Windows 7? I am using version 1.47.

I would appreciate some help with this.
