Berg's Dune movie: expectations? (no spoiler)

What do you expect the Peter Berg Dune movie to be like? What sort of originality will they bring in a third Dune film? They can't just copy-cat the series (which I guess was to be a "literal" interpretation?).

Is it going to be just some random familial movie you bring your dog to? Should we expect some personal take built from whatever was not in Lynch's/series?

I hope they learn from their mistakes and make this film more stand-alone than the first one; in other words, you shouldn't be required to read the book to understand the film.

And I expect the special effects to be much better, of course. But I have no idea how it's actually going to turn out.

I oppose stand-alone nature to be honest. This would only mean they have to explain too much, or oversimplify them.

I much prefer eye candy for those of us who have read the book. Children of dune was pretty close to that in my opinion, damn awesome soundtrack too.

Yes, but they should at least fill everybody in on the essentials, instead of leaving them in the dark like with Lynch's Dune. But I've read the book, so I don't actually mind that much.
