Dunenewt
Finally they're underway, and so far it looks like Musharraf won't be in power much longer, with his party in third place. There's talk about a coaliton beween Nawaz Sharif's party, and the late Benazir Bhutto's party. Is this feasible?Who would be best for Pakistan?Found a good page on the BBC about foreign interest in the election:http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/south_asia/7244817.stmResults so far:PPP (Bhutto's party) : 86PML-N (Nawaz Sharif): 64PML-Q: (pro-Musharraf) 37MQM (Sindh-based): 19ANP (Secular Pashtuns): 10Others: 29 Source: Geo TV
Anathema
It went better than I expected, but with all the parties and people that weren't able to run (Imran Khan for example) I wouldn't call these elections democratic. To paraphrase a Dutch proverb, a choice between Musharraf and Zardari is like a choice between old lead and scrap iron :-
Dunenewt
Okay, in the final results, the PPP got 87, PML-N got 66, and PML-Q got 40.Zardari wont be the new Prime Minister anyway, and nor will Sharif. The PPP are currently deciding who will be the next PM.
