Khan
Hey guys just wondering if you could help with this one:A few weeks ago my windows completely died on me, displaying the error message which reads "windows failed to load properly. Start in safe mode/restore to last known good config/start normally". All three options result in the same outcome which is that System32hal.dll is corrupt. I am able to run ubuntu from a live cd, but it won't install or recognise the windows partition (NTFS). I was wondering if you guys had any tips short of reinstalling windows (I don't have a boot disk to hand). My ability to get online is extremely sporadic but i would be extremely grateful of any help you could give. Thanks in advance.
gryphon
Hope this link helps in any way.Basically, restore boot.ini and replace hall.dll with a correct version from the WindowsXP cdrom.
