Andrew Posted October 27, 2007 Share Posted October 27, 2007 When I'm browsing a CD I burnt (any cd I've burned in past 7 years), all the icons have an IE icon on top which makes it very hard to tell what icon is beneath it. It has been like this for about a month for me. I have no idea how to get rid of it.When browsing the CD the normal icons are there but very quickly the IE icons go on top of them.It also happens with non burnt data(games/software) cds.Doesn't happen with my USB portable drives. The ShellIconCache file might be corrupted..What you might try is to reboot your system into Safe mode (Press F8 during boot, and select safe mode).And then see if the problem corrects in the explorer view..Ifso reboot your system back to normal mode.This might solve your issue..If not, let us know ;)Cheers.
