Dune 2 Graphics (sprites)

Does anyone have (or knows a site that does) sprites (units) or tiles (landscape) from the game dune2? Preferably the amiga version.

I do not have a windows pc, so windows .exe files are no help.

I hope I don't need to resort to playing it on my amiga, maqking screenshots and cutting them out :/

Does anyone know if the amiga gfx are available somewhere (the rock on amiga is light grey, on pc it is dark grey and gritty.)

I don't think there's an amiga gfx pack... Aren't they basically the same as IBM ones, except the palette uses less colors?

Anyway, check if you can open your Amiga version's data files with XCC Mixer or WestPak 2.

The amiga buildings and units look quite different. They have less colour (ocs 32 colours) but are generally more colourful and detailed. (For instance the construction yard has small vehicles in it with tracks and yellow colour.) The rock, Rocket turrets and windtraps are different too.

Um, ok. Say if you would prefer 32x32 versions, as D2TM has some you can use.

What about getting them directly out of the ROM? There are tools for this available (e.g. at Zophar's Domain), but TBH I never attempted extracting any graphics from a ROM myself.

I think the original colour palette is not important here. The graphic render you used is more important, I suppose. Anyway, it would be nice if you could find and upload them somewhere (RapidShare for example).

You're welcome. I hope it helps :) (As I said, I never tried extracting GFX from a ROM, so I have no idea about how efficient and productive this method might be)
