bob_fox
Can't people try being a bit less predictable? Can't we for once be surprised by a calm reaction? But I suppose there'll always be fringe movements.
nemafakei
"Qur'ans publicly defaced by prominent National Front members; Muslims say 'pff'" doesn't make such a good headline.
alchemi2
Good to see the other side of Islam getting some press.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7122562.stm
alchemi2
Felt i should balance it out by posting the outcome.http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7126162.stm
Egeides
Good to see the other side of Islam getting some press.Yes indeed, but the matter is:Is this approach within Islamic world - and West - given its full voice, or is it more silenced by radicalists than the other way round? Free speech to all those who don't care speaking over others' voices has different meanings and consequences, which I guess to be neither free nor speech. This phenomenon is not some Islam exclusive. alchemi2
Generally speaking it is only those with deeply held beliefs, be them political or religious that actively speak out, march and demonstrate. That why we often refer to the silent majority. Unfortunately quite often it is the minority that get things done or receive all the attention.
