gryphon
Tha's a nice detour.Your first 2 hops are on an ISP's private network. Then you'r routed to France over Ciaro and Londen to end up at a server in Slovakia.What ping does, is messuring speed on the network. Your bandwidth is more like the content. So see it as a highway if you please. Then a truck is your data. Which has a certain load and speed. If you get a truckload in it can be full (high bandwidth 26k per sec) but the speed in which the trucks drives over the highway is verry slow (low ping).Not really a good example although it's just to make a point.C:>tracert 217.119.125.26Tracing route to 26.125.119.217.in-addr.arpa [217.119.125.26]over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 2 ms 6 ms 2 ms 10.102.102.1 2 8 ms 8 ms 7 ms 10.90.0.1 3 9 ms 10 ms 15 ms p50225.net.upc.nl [212.142.50.225] 4 12 ms 12 ms 13 ms p14232073.net.upc.nl [212.142.32.73] 5 12 ms 14 ms 13 ms nl-ams05a-ra3-ae-1-0.aorta.net [213.46.183.93] 6 13 ms 12 ms 13 ms nl-ams02a-ra1-ge-4-0-0-0.aorta.net [213.46.183.97] 7 33 ms 34 ms 30 ms at-vie15a-rd1-pos-14-0.aorta.net [213.46.160.250] 8 42 ms 37 ms 32 ms at-vie05a-ri1-ge-1-2.aorta.net [213.46.173.206] 9 33 ms 48 ms 33 ms vix2.gtsce.net [193.203.0.101] 10 34 ms 34 ms 32 ms p1-0.sk2.gtsce.net [195.39.208.146] 11 35 ms 34 ms 34 ms Energotel-gw.sk.gtsce.net [62.168.110.90] 12 35 ms 36 ms 38 ms 20.210.244.87.in-addr.arpa [87.244.210.20] 13 35 ms 38 ms 33 ms 26.125.119.217.in-addr.arpa [217.119.125.26]Trace complete.C:>tracert 196.204.213.141Tracing route to 196.204.213.141 over a maximum of 30 hops 1 3 ms 2 ms 3 ms 10.102.102.1 2 10 ms 8 ms 9 ms 10.90.0.1 3 11 ms 13 ms 8 ms p50193.net.upc.nl [212.142.50.193] 4 15 ms 11 ms 10 ms p14232041.net.upc.nl [212.142.32.41] 5 14 ms 16 ms 12 ms nl-ams02a-ra1-ae-1-0.aorta.net [213.46.183.57] 6 20 ms 18 ms 21 ms uk-lon01a-rd2-pos-5-0.aorta.net [213.46.160.237] 7 21 ms 18 ms 18 ms 213.46.174.78 8 19 ms 21 ms 17 ms peer2.ldn1.flagtel.com [195.66.226.146] 9 19 ms 21 ms 19 ms so-1-2-0.0.cjr02.ldn004.flagtel.com [62.216.129.34] 10 92 ms 89 ms 87 ms so-3-0-0.0.cjr01.nyc005.flagtel.com [62.216.128.50] 11 214 ms 216 ms 216 ms 196.204.213.141Trace complete.Those are traceroutes from my location. As you can see from my location the ping times are lower and it doesn't circle Londen twice like with your route.So I think the latency in ping times is due to the route traffic takes from your location (somewhere in Africa) to Slovakia. It doesn't seem to be the most efficient route.Then again, depending on the firewall's enroute they can make your ping higer, or look that way without really effecting anything and we're all just wrong. :)
thesnake
that is a good study to the subject mister gryphon but i dont undestand any of what you say.. i feel you are trying to tell my that my isp is using some slow trafic bands or routes.. i will change them next mounth and see what it will come up to thnks
