Republican "fake phone call" scandal spreads - now in Philly too

Republicans phone people posing as democrats to piss them off.

Also 2.6 billion is being spent on this midterm election. That is a rediculous amount. (They say limiting spending is against free speech)

Also the Diebold voting machines are retarded. They can be tampered with, they are owned by a private company that doesn't tell how they work.

Diebold is protesting a documentary based upon them.

Last week in Florida people who voted for Democrats had their vote cast as Republican. No paper trail.

There is only 2 parties, and they are virtually the same.

I didn't realize the attack ads on TV were as terrible as they were.

No wonder there is only a 50% voter turnout in elections.

Your last statement rings true to so many ears at my university. We recognize (at least those I've spoken to) that political parties are the folly of our democratic nation, and it's really an excuse for grown adults to act like children all over again. How can we be motivated to vote if this crap is happening?

Acriku, you can't fix the telly by changing the channel.

Then again, the telly is unfixable in this day and age. So I might as well enjoy myself on another channel.

I suggest letting someone else repair it for you. The previous owner, perhaps? :P

Alternatively, take a hammer to it and give it a good thumping.

I wrote this last night and my internet died.

Virginia voters receiving robo-calls from "The Elections Commission" stating that they'll be arrested if they show up to vote tomorrow.

There is also an audio file of this on that page.

American politics is all about not getting people to vote. Interesting.

They even left Democratic congress candidate Jim Webb's last name off of the BALLOT BECAUSE HIS LAST NAME IS TOO LONG. WTF!>?!?!

They replaced it with

James H. "Jim"

Since when did James H. Webb become a long name?! What would they do if a non white foriegn name wanted to run for congress? These evoting machines also cut off party affiliation names.

Whoever approved of electronic voting should be fired and e-voting abolished.

Since when did

sample_ballot.gif

Become difficult to understand?

And if someone says they ahve other things to vote on as well, simply make the piece of paper bigger :P

Seems the democrats took back the senate and the house.

Wierd how in American politics it is possible for a party to hold presidency, when the house and senate are controlled by another party. Doesn't make sense to me.
