thesnake
befor anyone eals make effort on this thread i will post the solution my self(better than deleting the post in case somone needed to learn)here is what a guy replyed to me at pc tech forum and he was 100% right The info you were able to get said the 512MB DIMM has 2 ranks. My guess would be your motherboard doesn't support double-ranked DIMMs. If you've only got one ChipSelect wire going to the socket you'll only be able to access one rank and you'll only be able to see 256MB on it. The motherboard manual should say if it supports double-ranked DIMMs. If not, you'll have to exchange that DIMM for a single-ranked one (probably at a higher price).Aside from the DIMM itself, it's also possible there's a problem with the motherboard or that one slot supports double-rank and the other two don't. You could try swapping the 512MB DIMM into the other slots and see if it gets you the full 512MB there.Whatever the reason, I would expect the shop to have tried it out to make sure it worked. You may want to be careful in any future dealings with them.............................................................i moved the 512 chip to the left slot and it worked
erjin999
...and that is the kind of thing I think it would have taken us a while to get to. Thanks for leaving it here in case it helps others.
