need help with translating something

I am watching a flick by Fellini called The City of Women. On a wall there is a bunch of writing and I cant seem to translate it. I am going to write it down here in hopes that someone may help. If anyone can do this I would be very happy. :-)

"sante cazzonius ad gloriam foeminarum memorandam erexit atque aedificavit, anno MCMXXXV"

It sounds like a memory plate. I can't translate it properly though, but there are some things I can point out.

"Sante Cazzonius" is probably a name (saint?). "Ad gloriam" is literally "to glory" and "memorandam" obviously has something to do with remembering. "Anno MCMXXXV" in turn would be the year the remembered act took place.

My best guess would be

"Saint Cazzonius encouraged a remembrance to the glory of females and so he built, in the year 1985."
