Need some help with a report...

Well, see, we(My class) have to do a report in my Algebra class, and I just haad to draw 'Counting systems in different cultures'. Now, see, that isn't so bad in itself, it's just that I really can't find any information on it. Anything you have will do; From counting systems that ancient tribes had to modern ones used in some backwards village in China. I have to hand it in on Friday, so any info you give me up yo Friday would help me very much. By the way, I might've translated my topic innacurately, so what I'm looking for is something like the Mango-oroi system I found already: Mango being one and oroi being two. It was used by some ancient tribes in Mongolia and Northern Asia. Anyway, thanks in advance, Fed2k! :)

How lazy is it to ask us to do your work!!! by simply typing in to the google bar your question 'Counting systems in different cultures', I was able to find enough reference material to do 3 essays. So get with it and research yourself. Afterall it's your education not ours.  ::) ;)

I knew someone would respond like this, and this was why I was put off in the beginning to make this thread. I wasn't asking anyone to do my work, I was just asking for some information. And even then, only asking, not demanding or implying that you guys just have to do this. And when I typed into Google 'Counting systems in different cultures', I got some .pdf files about Maori's and their language. So there. Granted, I didn't look very thoroughly since I wasn't expecting any good results, but meh...

By the way, thanks for the link. :)

There is some evidence to suggest that many European cultures once had a base-twenty counting system. See if you can find some.

Look for Linear A (aka Minoan) and Linear B (aka Mycenean) systems. The former is more interesting.
