Age of Empires custom campaigns

I'm very fond of old computer games, and currently I'm a bit into Age of Empires. Maybe someone can help me and give a link or two to AoE dedicated sites where I can download custom campaigns or singleplayer levels? Looks like the map/campaign editor in AoE allows for some good work.

I still like that game. Bought the gold edition that had aoe and the rise of rome expansion pack for $60 when it came out.

Could you please do me a little favor more and post the English AoE language.dll file, so that I can play the game in English?

I've been playing it again since recently, as well. Some games just don't grow old. Attached to this post is the zipped language.dll file for the Gold version (I had to zip as the board doesn't accept .dll attachments)

Thank you very much. What campaigns from http://aoe.heavengames.com/ would you personally advise me to play that are well-designed, intricate, quite difficult and interestinf at the same time?

BTW, is the Gold edition compatible with the Rise of Rome expansion, or is RoR just shipped with Gold in a single pack?

Gold Edition is the same as AoE + the expansion pack. I can't advise you about campaigns on that site, I haven't seen it before and I plan to complete the standard campaigns first.

I just googled and found that site, I havn't actually played any campaigns from there.

I would go by rating, # of downloads and comments.

My gold edition only came with one cd which had both versions on it.

I've got one more question: is it a bug of my version, or is it normal that most buildings have only the 'generic' buildup animations, and only the Stone Age House has a different, specific set of frames (that show different stages of construction). All other buildings (except the Dock) have all the same frames with building materials, etc. etc. until the construction is finally complete.

I'd post a screenshot, but the PrtScr copy-paste thing doesnt work because the palette is wrong.

I think they have the same frames with building materials. I don't remember much difference.
