Okay, so my internet cable modem works fine. But I also have a router connected to the modem. This router has one antenna for wireless connection, while my own computer is connected manually (through cable). The problem is that the router is activating itself, it all works fine in about 10 seconds, then it disconnects/restart itself - and it keeps doing so.

The router is a D-Link "AirPlus Xtreme G+ Wireless Router". It started doing this two days ago, for no apparent reason. Although, I did have a problem with the modem three days ago, when it refused to connect - and it turned out that the problem was in the basement, and that the internet-providers fixed it, and then the router problem started.

Anyone have a solution?

I have the "DI-624+". But in order to install the firmware, you have to enter the IP of the router (I presume it is the IP of the router, no?). But the browser refuses to find it. I have tried to reboot the router, I also tried the "hard-rebooting" (in which you use a paperclip to get to the little reset button on the back of the router), nothing works.

I did read the manual, but nothing is said there.  :(

Usually the IP for routers is either 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.100.1...

Is your computer set to DHCP for its IP address ? If your router is working at all, it should set your computer up for the correct IP settings, thereby giving you the routers IP address (it will be the gateway & DNS IP address).

1) You may want to try and find out what they changed in your basement.

2) Turn off your pc, modem and router for at least 1 minute. Then turn on your modem, router and finally the pc (in that order).

Hello, again :) ..

It turned out, after all, that the router was broken. And the guarantee ran out some year ago or so, ...

But I'll keep these things in mind if it happens the next time.
