avg guard 7. olso i was trying some of the anty virus s/w that i have sutcha s panda platinum and

noton securty swuit . olso i was trying to  install  the intell prossors  identefication utilty and the hyper threading  test utilty and i had some error messages with the id utilty windows virsion

so i used the dos virsion and my proseesor gave positive readings but at the time the failuer happed the windows id utilty was installed and i was trying to test it again. but i remarked that both shot down happend while avg install and uninstall bar was in function .then when the avg gard was installed again the pc refused to start at all.like i said. then when i maneged to get on again

i removed all the s/w that was presented at that time ( the anty virus and the proseesor id utilites) and all went on back again to normal.

i was reading about starting and shutting down trubblshotting and it said

somthing about mscnfig  and it said that i should try to disable the anty virus s/w from start up list and make a test but actuly i removed the hole program

well, even if your virusscanner caused some sort of problem your commputer should still show your BIOS when booting. When it does nothing at all.. . so the screen showing your harddrives, memory and all doesn't show that is not a software error.

it said somthing about mscnfig  and it said that i should try to disable the anty virus s/w from start up list and make a test but actuly i removed the hole program

Sorry to say. But removing a programm is not possible with msconfig.

no i removed it with add remove program.  too get ride of it totaly but am sure it cosed the cut off coz when i was uninstalling it told me that uninstalling needs to restart then when i restarted the pc went off and when i made it back to windows i found that the s/w didnt actuly uninstall so there was and eror reguarding the uninstall process .  then when i maneged to finish the removal of the anty virus all went back to normal...

and if u think its a hardware pro . what do u think it is???  all dirivers are functioning properly

i dont see any errors and should that happen often if it  hardware?  i have the pc for few weeks now it never did that.. now its working normal olso for the past day or so... ???

what about that intell processor utility that was installed on my pc it gave me error messages but then i forgot to remove it. u think it loked the cpu some haw?

I think MSConfig can be used to disable startup items.

It certainly isnt a software issue if you dont get the POST screen (Hard drives detected, memory...etc...).

ITs possibly a powersupply failure or a major power related motherboard related issue. Thats if the Thing doesnt respond AT ALL. It could also be a power button issue (I had fun with that one once ;)).

But I would hazzard a guess at it being the power supply. That or the fremen were leeching your power :P

well am sorry erjin to say that when i tryed to install the same anty virus again. the same problem happend .whitch means  some bad programed files was in the s/w  and  if its a hardwear issue  dont you think it should happen again why it will happen only one time if the power hardware is dameged. i mean every thing went back to normal after the delete of that software .

olso its not the boton coz it worked again just after i pulled off the power switch and put it back again.and  the freemen dont leech its the Tleilaxu  you should playe more often.

whatever the problem is, think we can consider this topic closed before we get in an andless discussion over if it's possible or not.

If it happends when you install AVG antivirus, Don't install it. :)

ok boss  . but please let me feel free  to post again if the problem happend again so i can ask you what to do.... i mean  for now am still in the warrenty period  and i dont find any reason to report this to my hardware provider coz  every thing is working normaly so they would ask me why do i want to replace anything .i mean i must put my hands on some clues or evidence of hardware failuer befor i try the warranty.

so. i hope i dont need to post again and thank you  grephon for ure help

well , technicly this is another question not realted to the endless cose.

what about that pull off and on the plug. why it made it start agan. what is the conflict here

dosnt that gives you some cluse?

Well if its software, then yes, dont install that one.

Its just the way you said it wasnt responding at all.

As for closing the thread, that seems a bit over the top, cos if it is caused by the software, and it is totally dead as spiceman says, then I would be learning something pretty new.

Spiceman, try Nod from eset www.eset.com I use their antivirus at work and home and its good...
