I have this old game that is having problems running. It says I need at least 3 megs of virtual memory to run it. It is a windows based game. What should I do?

no this is an old thing that runs on director player 5. I heard somewhere that the problem lies with me having too much main memory... so how do I correct the problem?

Just so I understand you correct, you have an older game that requires Shockwave Player to run and that game gives you a Virtual Memory error ?

If that is the case I would find the guy who wrote it and [tt]*the following words are censord*[/tt].

Which game are we talking about ?

If you look in the properties > memory of the executable file, you can fine-tune how much of each memory type you're using.

where did you find those settings ?

this might sound strange. . but can you make a screenshot of it. . as I am quit certain that's not in there by default on WindowsXP pro or Windows 2k3.

quit frankly. . . TMA-1 hasn't replied and the game in question relies on director player 5 .. meaning it's probably a browser based flas game. So. . how can you adjust the memory it uses and even more. . this will be the first ever game I know of being flash based and setting it's own virtual memory settings. . ..

The fact that TMA-1 hasn't replied himself and it started just after the other topic about virtual memory makes me think of one thing. .. ::)
