Bootup problem

Almost everytime my computer loads, it freezes at boot up, sometimes even before Windows has loaded, and sometimes it doesn't even display anything on the monitor.  I have no idea why, and when this happens I have to reset it, sometimes at the plug. 

I'll post a DxDiag shortly, but there's a couple of programmes which could be causing this problem:

AVG

Zonealarm.

Don't know what else it could be...

If it happens before Windows even starts to load up, including sometimes the monitor not even becoming active, then it is not a software issue at all. Open up computer and clean it out of all your filthy dirt  :Pand take out the cards one by one and re-seat them.

Has any thing physical changed on the computer recently ? Added or removed anything ?

Nope.  Dirt sounds like a good explanation, something I thought about, but I don't know so much about hardware, so will sort this one out.  Cheers!

Is it freezing at the Post screen or after? and are there any strange beeps going on?

No strange beeps.  It freezes at any time.

Memory will be fine as I've had it for over 2 years.  I've cleaned it out and it seems to have done the trick.  There was two beetles and three moths in my computer, all dead of course.

Well, check the DxDiag, and more importantly, the Bios info on it...

Did you re-seat all the components ? Including the RAM ? So you had some bugs in your computer ? wouldnt be the first !
