Hello techies, I was about to download the Emperor: Battle For Dune in-game music files hosted on Dune2k.com when my IE crashed and it said it was because of some 'iyus.dll'. I found out that it was a trojan after I went to various search engines to perform searches on it. I followed the removal instructions on one of the sites but just like it already described, the Iyus trojan is stealth-ed and I couldn't find any traces of it in the registry editor.

Sometimes when I try to download game demos or go to some websites, my IE crash and it's also because of the iyus.dll thingy, so what should I do now?

Use google to find out about the following:

Firefox - alternative browser. Less prone to nasties.

Spybot search and destroy - Anti baddy program.

Ad-aware SE - Anti baddy proggy.

Usually those two last ones sort out quite a few of the bugs. They run similar to antivirus software.

I am sorry that I cannot make links and whatnot for you but work/managers...etc...

Get Firefox, try a program like Stinger Here after rebooting into safe mode. There are different ones that are similar. Also, Ghosthunter posted this Ant-spyware program thats not bad at all and free..Here

Get recent patches and updates for windows, and if all else fails, a nice Format always works. I recently had to do one due to a load of IRC type trojans that I couldn't get rid of completely. Or installĀ  software like Drive Image, to do a clean install save the clean install as a backup on HDD for times like this, then it only takes a few minutes to restore a clean system if your Virus protection can't isolate and remove it all.
