Ok, so I've been playing around with my website lately, as stated in other topics.  I made an entrance animation with a .gif animation that is really choppy to load.  It was mentioned by Ice_Cube to make it in flash so I could have a preload bar that way.  So I did, I made it in flash, spent time through countless tutorials of how to make preload bars, i made them, then put my animation with it, and I even figured out how to make a flash button so I could have the link to my site.  In the Flash MX program, if i go to test the animation, everything works perfectly, there is a load bar, and the link even works and everything.  So I published it, and it saved and what not.  But then when I go to try and put it on my site, it doesnt appear.  I copied the code for it exactly into notepad, made it a webpage and put it on my site, in a "test" webpage.  but if I open the page, nothing happens, the page loads, and says it's done... but there is never any animation played... wtf?

this is the page it is on, so you can view the source code and see what I need to change.

I've copied the flash files onto my site as well, so I don't think that it just can't find the images... I'm so confused please help! (maybe I am copying the wrong flash movies onto my site?)

any help is appreciated, thanks.

<embed src="Opening animation-flash.swf" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="600" height="600"
name="Opening animation-flash" align="middle" allowScriptAccess="sameDomain"
type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" />

Are you sure you uploaded the "Opening animation-flash.swf" file to the right place? Or named the link right?

This file doesn't seem to exist.....

Also, does earthlink allow .swf files? Can't imagine it doesn't but you don't always know with free/ISP hosting.

OMFG...

i figured it out right after I read that you said it doesnt exist... I had the flash file on my site... however the stupid flash mx named the file with a lower case 'o' ... so the way the site was coded, it was looking for the same file name with an uppercase 'O'... I cannot believe that one letter caused all this trouble...

thanks ice lol.
