game loads quickly.... gameplay slow and choppy

when i start the game it loads quickly the intro movies are good the game loads then it slows down to where it is unplayable... it is the same when i go into the options before and during the game any ideas? i have a amd athlon 64 processor thats all the specs i know about the comp

Start Menu

Run

Type "dxdiag"

Click on "Save All Information"

Attach it here. You may need to rename it becuase the oringinal name will have been taken.

The only poor thing with your computer is its graphic card, which seemingly only has 32MB of video memory.

I don't know if that's enough for Emperor to run smooth. It might be. I've never tested.

Have you tried lowering the graphic settings in the game?

i reduced the game graphics to the lowest it can go and it still acts the same

Well i'm no 'puter expert but I have worked with this game alot. So here's a couple of ideas. When you went into the graphics options and hit advanced, did you try going into hardware options and de-selecting multi texture and hardware T&L?

Second, how many programs are running in the background? First look to the right side of your taskbar, what icons are there? Is there any you can exit? This will free up resources on the machine. Next hit cntrl-alt=del and click on the processes tab. Are there any there that you can end? Just launch your browser and do a google search on the processes listed (example rxmon.exe on my machine is a component of roxio audio software and can be safely end-tasked) I say this because my kid has an OLD laptop with a 366mhz celeron and with everything unnecessarry shut off she can play skirmish, although a little slow. I just bought a laptop with a althon 64 3200 proc. and Emperor plays smokin fast on it. So yours ahould be able to as well. The only difference I saw is mine has a little better graphics set up. (radeon 9600 mobility 64mg) but with your proc and half a gig of ram you should be able to run the game. Let us know how you make out.
