Construction yard won't upgrade for solo adventures.

I have a XP second edition box.  AMD 2.4, 1.5g ddr ram, radeon 96000 card.

I install Dune 2000 using 95 compatibility mode and run in same. I have installed the patch into the Dune2000 folder. Everything works fine (the movies stall, but will play).  However, When I get to the levels where I should be able to upgrade my construction yard, I can't.  It just remains greyed out and doesn't let me activate it.

If anyone has any suggestions, I'm open to them.  I just really wan't to knock out the adventures and it's a pain with out rocket turrets.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.  I'm even willing to accept a hack (to let me do what I should be able to)

It is still in the Technical Support boards, just under the Dune 2000 category which is where it belongs. You can't upgrade your construction yard until later in the game, how far into it are you?

Guessing from the title, can you upgrade your construction yard in practice (skirmish) mode? (I believe you need a tech level of 3 or higher to be able to upgrade)

in techlevel 6 and 7 u can upgrade, in missions, only in mission 8 or 9 i think.
