Gobalopper
Westwood Studios offers monthly contests to encourage community involvement in our online games and to reward those players that successfully compete with other Westwood Gamers from around the world. Although most of our contest players play within the rules, a small percentage of players attempt to spoil the contest enjoyment of others by cheating in various ways. In an effort to better suit the needs of you, the avid Red Alert 2 player, we have beefed up our force of contest investigators. As of March 1, 2001, Westwood Studios will adopt a Zero-Tolerance stance against cheating.Players caught cheating will be banned from participation in Westwood Contests. With these new policies come questions, of course. So, we will also become active on the Tournament and Contests message board. And, we are working on a cheat report form, to make it quick and easy to report a cheater. The contest rules are as follows:
garth
Better late than never......But I suppose WW could always do more to curb cheating, mainly preventing it before it happens.

montego
The sad thing is that not much has *really* changed on WWO. At least in the RA2 & TS areas, people are still modding it out, and frankly, it's not a problem(synch-wise, since both games are much improved over D2K in their ability to keep the game synchronous between players. I have seen it as an observer in RA2 and as a player in TS. With D2K, the editing is much more subtle, since the game is less stable to begin with. Long live the (honest) fighters!
