I recently tried to play online and could not connect through westwood. It said invalid password.I used to play about a year ago but now it wont let me on.I've also tried entering a new nick. No luck. Then I tried to connect with xwisc and it said invalid serial number.

Is there anybody out there still playing online??? Where???

Thanks Amiga. I think I found something that works.Using the XWISC tool and manually changing the IP address at the top to 62.216.18.38 then clicking set and starting dune takes me to xcc online. It appears to work and have 3 different rooms.alman, atredies, and corrino.Nobody is in any of them however so I cant test it out.If someone has v1.06 unmodified please come and help me test this out. I cant believe dune can be dead online!! Its one of the most fun parts of this awsome game!!

XWIS can be downloaded at http://xwis.net/

Come play!!Dont let Dune Die!!!

Well I finally found someone else in the xcc network to test this and it does not seem to work.It seemed to take you out after a few minutes. You were still there but others names would disappear and chat wouldnt work after a minute. You could talk on page though. Host of game couldnt see others names or mesagges but joiners could. Then it would kick u out of game start saying host not found.Weird. I guess it doesnt work then :'( sorry. This was the only place I could find to play online. and ophirus, I've Had my dune for about 5 years and havent tried to play online again until recently, but I,m sure there are still copies availible online somewhere?? E-bay maybe??

I hope someone finds a way to play online again because it rocks!!

Who not ask Mr Olaf wether his server supports dune2k ? Seems the easiest way, maybe it just can't. He does have it listed so maybe he will be willing to work with you guys to get it going. It would be excellent if you guys could play online again, huh ?

He has been brilliant with the EBFD community, I am shure he would try his best to help. Try IM him here on this forum or find him on the strike team forums, I think it is....

Amigabot, Did you install the rotorz dll patch? I did because i couldnt login either. It seemed to help. I got it from shygirls site.save it right to dune 2000 internet folder and replace old dll. I dont know if when I tested this site if the other player did this.Maybe it makes a difference? Otherwise it might be in settings somewhere need changed? I also instaled no cd patch so disk doesnt have to be in drive, maybe that help too?

I dont know much about all that , Im no tech wiz... but I have run xwisc on both win 98 and me and I couldnt get it to work on me till I changed dll. I think I may have done that a long time ago on the 98. ????

That may be the XWIS we are talking about, as Strike Team use XWIS (I think that is the relationship they have). Certainly they work with Mr Olaf somehow. :-
