Hey. Recently I was playing America's Army and well..my computer kind of died. I don't know how to explain it, but it went into a black abyss. But the lights and such still work. And you can do CMDs. Any ways you guys can help will be appreciated.  :'( Thanks.

you can do CMD's. . you mean your computer does boot but you get a DOS screen ?

Recently I turned my Win98 for this thing, altough I am not sure if I will maintain it... There are some weird things I would like to change: first is the "Search Companion", an extremely limiting feature when compared to 98 searcher, as it cannot search for other things than music, pictures and video; another, restarting combo Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work as it should; and finally, how can I emulate DOS with full disc access and LPT port support?

I get a pop up window during loading that says:  Compression Error

                                                general file transfer error

                                                Plese check your target location and try again

WHAT...does this mean ?

It does not load or does not install . . it sounds more like an install error. Curropt data or something. Are you installing from a legit CD ?
