Vanguard3000 Posted September 14, 2004 Share Posted September 14, 2004 They weren't in the DE. It was one of the few interesting concepts apparently created by KJA and BH. The ony thing it mentions is that they were somehow disgraced during the "Third Coalsack War" (N.B. Calsack likely refers to the dark "coalsack" nebula). They were then exiled from the Imperium by the Padishah Emperor, but struck a deal with the Guild. Because Guild heighliners are legally not Imperial property, they had sanctuary aboard the massive ships. Over time, they somehow became souvenir peddlers in common areas of the heighliners (which weren't supposed to exist in the original novels). Not sure what you mean by history, unless you mean the fic itself. I tend to think of 'history' as 'anything that has already happened.'
