Problems with Islam

Just thought it odd that Muslim nations make Islam compulsory.

that is devoted to the hope that one day, Muslims will stop stoning to death infidels and unfaithful women

it amazes me, that in the 21st century, there is still a religion that actively practices barbarism in the name of "god".

I remember this one story about an American space shuttle mission. I believe they brought chimpanzees aboard to test the effect weightlessness had on them. The chimpanzees impressed the crew by throwing chimp-feces at them for the duration of the trip. Apparently, weightlessness didn't hinder them too much.

Anyway, I think that might be a good analogy as well.

Well, to be honest, we've done Islam to death! We've had like four topics with the same data, stoning of women, terrorism, etc., etc., etc. It's not like we've seen anything we havn't already.

1)  Islam is violent in its source

2)  Compulsory in Islamic nations

3)  Oppressive to women where practiced under Shari`ah

Here's a question that hasn't been asked before:

What exactly do you propose to DO, Emprworm? Surely, if you complain about a problem, then you must also have a solution, correct?

For example, what do you propose to do about Saudi Arabia, one of the world's most oppressive theocracies and one of Bush's closest bed-buddies?

Actually, that's a good point. There were 22 people killed today in Saudi Arabia, I believe they were in a government building at the time. And last week, another score of people were killed in an attack on an oil processing center. And I am sure we can remember back to 1999 (or was it 2000? I forget) when the Saudi government attempted to frame British nationals for terrorist acts -- when in reality they wanted to simply get back at a Saudi expatriot living in Britain. I recall some brutal methods of torture used on those Englishmen. Clearly, all is not well in the kingdom.

And since Saudi Arabia is an absolute monarchy (one of the last remaining on Earth), my own proposal is that we use the "Nicholas II" solution... He he he... ;)

A bloody revolution leading to a regime that in many ways shall be worse than the one preceeding it.

Not exactly.

It's a bloodless revolution followed by a bloody civil war, during which the monarch is executed, and which is won by a side showing great promise before its leader dies and it gets hijacked by an evil dictator who later goes on to win a world war and rule over half the globe.

But let's not get into specifics.

Which is reminiscent of the French & Russian revolutions (in pretty much every respect except being a bloodless revolution in the first place -- that and the French figured things out faster than Russia).
