I need to solve a problem.

I have got a MSI K7N2 Delta mainboard

http://www.msi.com.tw/program/products/mainboard/mbd/pro_mbd_detail.php?UID=436

(XP 2800+) and when trying to boot up I get this message : No drive attached to Fast track controller,Bios is not installed.

Greek to anyone :O  hehe

it detects the floppy and the cd-rom but not the HD,it starts but stop after a while.

Do I have to format my C:drive to get it to work? as my old mainboard drivers are  still there?

If that mobo's anything like my old one with fasttrack controler, you can either attach it (HD) to the Fasttrack controller for things like RAID and possibly faster speeds, or to the normal IDE controller.

If all you want to do is get your system working, and assuming it is as I think, you should try connecting it to your normal IDE controller, probably marked IDE 0 in your manual.

The message you get is simply saying that it cannot  find the HD on the Fasttrack controller and will not start up the Fasttrack controller (thats fine, if you use the IDE 0). You should be able to turn off the auto detection of Fastrack drives from your BIOS.

If you want to use the Fasttrack controller, you need to check you have connected the HD properly to the Fasttrack slot on the mobo.

Hope that helps a bit.
