Help with Direct x

Okay i just got to my dads house, and was gonna sit down and play counter strike.

i double click the icon and get

the ddraw.dll file cant start. Check the file to determine the problem.

I try to load far cry...

and get

CRITICAL ERROR: error loading DLL: Xrenderd3d9.dll, error code 1114.

I tried dowloading direct x and reinstaillinng it, to no avail.

help...no game wants to work.

dxdllreg has caused an error in KERNEL32.dll dxdllred will now close.

Did anything change since the last time it worked ?

Run dxdiag and run the test on the video and adio tab. Post results here.

You're whole directx seems to be screwed up. Everything directx related either can't be loaded, or can't be found.

If I would have had that issue, I would format my pc.

Are you sure you're not infected by any virus ? And again, what changed since the last time it worked ?

Or how about installing direct x 9.0b aggain

if you have Steam, thats most likely the case  ::)

No...Dont use steam and i tried everything from dowloading newest drivers for my graphics card to reinstalling direct x...now the icons on the backround refuse to work, i have to go start favorites just to get IE to open up...No virus, ran virus scan a few times and nothing.

Or how about a Repair if its one of the newer OS's ? Might same your data/game installs ?
