Emperor unit (rules) editor future?

What do you think about unit/rules editors for Emperor? Do you want to make mods for Emperor?

It's because I've been working on TibEd 2 for some time now, which is supposed to be an Emperor editor, but I'm not sure if anyone is waiting for this editor at all (mainly due to well... don't know).

Would you use this editor if it were there? (not talking about the not-very-good-alpha available at this moment).

Well there already some editors for stuff like that but what I would really want is something that lets you test the mod. To see if it would work without having to continuosly loading emeperor again and again. Like to make sure it wouldn't crash. Not just test the validity of it but like having emperor but can only do skirmish, no cd quick to load and gives error results and stuff.

I think we need an xbf editor. :)

I can't remember how complete Riper's editor was but I guess having the option to edit more of the attributes would be a plus.

Ripers program is great for text editors. I hate finding a little thing by searching page by page. Still we should have an xbf editor and another tester thing to make sure everything works for it.

Riper's editor was good, but too limited.

Something with the more open-ended style of TibEd would be much appreciated, as it would make adding new units a damn sight easier. And yes, an XBF editor would be very useful.

XBF is the unit art file format, right? Like the Voxels in RA2?

In a few weeks ::) I'll start a field-test or something to see if TibEd 2 interface is any better for Emperor - it's in a very early stage. And I hope to have an 'easy' possibility to make a difference between veterancy editing and normal editing - because that's a big issue with TibEd (it puts keys in the wrong place for non-veterans).

Yes, XBFs are like voxels in that they are the 3D models.
