Let's get one thing straight about Saddam...

I mean "we" as in the communists and socialists. For 40 years, Iraq has been a CIA-backed anti-communist dictatorship which ruled over its people with an iron fist and did Washington's dirty work, especially when it came to killing communists. Thousands were murdered, and the ones who were left alive were ruthlessly persecuted.

Saddam Hussein has been an enemy of the US only in the past 14 years, but he has been a bitter enemy of the communist movement from the moment the Ba'ath Party took power.

But even in grief, Monday's gathering was a political celebration of sorts. Two men were dead, victims of a terrorist bombing Jan. 22 at a neighborhood office of the Iraqi Communist Party. But for the first time after decades of furtive, underground life, party members could mourn their dead proudly, in public and by name.

"In Saddam's time we would never dare have an open funeral," said Khalaf Ashrak, 52, a longtime friend of Aboud, recalling the repression of Communists by President Saddam Hussein's Baath Party.

Gesturing around the crowded tent and pointing out prominent guests, Ashrak said: "His government tried to crush us for 40 years. Usually when they killed one of us, they never gave back the body, and sometimes they even made us pay for the bullets."

Baath is an acronym for Arab Socialistic Party. He may not be a friend of romanian communists, but at least he had same political allegiance. Also he supported with "oil bons" many communist parties around Europe, including slovak communist party, KSS.

Romanian communists? I was talking about the way he murdered and persecuted Iraqi communists.

And one of my articles mentions that he made deals with the stalinists in Europe even while he was killing the communists in his own country - further proof that stalinists are traitors who don't give a damn about communism.

And regardless of what these Arab "socialists" choose to call themselves, nothing can wash away the blood of the true socialists murdered by them, or the fact that they came to power with the support and funding of the world's leading capitalist powers.

In other words, the USA, I assume. But not every person and society on this world is true and just.

Many anti-communists assume that communism is what we saw in the USSR, what is in Cuba, China and North Korea. Assumption that communism is evil and can never be changed.

On the other side, many anti-capitalists assume that capitalism is what we experience today in most Western countries. Assumption that capitalism is evil and can never be changed.

Saddam was evil, yes. But I'd say more true communists died in USSR, that many true communists die in China, Cuba and North Korea as we speak. I wonder why you don't write about those countries...

So you believe that the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is actually democratic?

Or do you accept the fact that they're not real democrats?

There is a clear definition of socialism, and there is a clear definition of democracy. Someone who does not respect those definitions is not a socialist or a democrat, regardless of what he chooses to call himself.
