Timenn
Which House, do you think, has the best storyline, characters? The best movies? I think by myself the Atreides are the best (Mentat is nuts) and the Harkonnen ('cool' Mentat) but the Ordos have no sense of humour with their directives and no-failures :'(
Phyrex
Atreides movies are B.O.R.I.N.G. They are way to "un-evil". ;DHouse Harkonnen has the best story line by far. However The Executrix is the coolest person in the game. Expecially House Ordos' "ending" ... uh I mean your end is wicked! To bad they cut out the real hartplug scene. You can download it somewhere and it's very bloody. It's a shame WW had to take it out just because some puny kidz play this game to! ;D
nampigai
heart plug scene in the Ordos movies? Personally I don't like any of the storylines, and there's way to few movies, and the actors a really bad.
Ligic_Tha_Master
I believe Phyrex is referring to the Harkonnen heart plug scene.
nampigai
OK, I can't remember that. But it's a long time since I completed it with the Harks.
alphabeta4000
heart plug scene. very harkonnen
Timenn
I've only seen that on Dune motion picture
nemafakei
The Atreides are more Dunically correct (it is a word now!), and the ordos do get a bit repetitive - especially with echoes of Edric O (not our Edric). The Harkonnen are, well, predictable.
nampigai
Dunically....hmmmWell doesn't they say that something happened between the Atreides and the Fremen in the past, and that's why they don't work together at the start.I think that until now I don't like any of them only the Ordos mentat, I haven't completed with the Ordos yet though. Maybe next time (if there'll be a next time) they should have all new houses, I don't like what they do to house Atreides or house Harkonnen. Ligic_Tha_Master
In the Atreides intro movie, the commentary sais that:"But their trust has been broken, and must be regained."
nampigai
Yes exactly, well that's not very Atreidically, now is it?I think that they should use other houses instead houses we don't have as strong a relationship with as the Atreides and the Harkonnen, afterall there's lots of houses in the universe. nemafakei
Who says the fault was the atreides'Remember the ordos mission where you get At gholas - that could have happened in the past to break them up.
nampigai
I haven't completed the Ordos my cd is gone, I only made two or three missions with them, stopped playing for a week or two and now it's gone. :-/But still when the Atreides get attacked in the highliner, they also act in a non Atreidically way. Atreides is about honour and loyalty.
nemafakei
That's honorable - it's just bending the rules to make justice.
nampigai
Don't they attack the Ordos? that's in conflict with the great convention, and in my opinion not very honorable.
Timenn
The Guild has allowed them to free the prisoners, and then the mentat says:' You can use this to 'accindentally' kill enemies who are not involved.
nampigai
There's nothing honourable in killing the Ordos, They are unknowning and The Guild didn't agreed to the attack on Ordos.
Timenn
The mentat said that BOTH the Harkonnen and the Ordos had broken the Great Convention
nampigai
hmmmm, I don't remember this...but ok I still don't like neither the Harkonnen nor the Atreides. I think they shouldn't have used them.
Timenn
Doing that the game will lose much of it's 'Dunebeing', but WW made to much the good and de badguy of them, and Ordos will have no role then :'(
nampigai
In my opinion Dune is much more than Atreides and Harkonnen. We have a lot of other houses that would be just as great, I just think that westwood is destroing the two houses by making such bad story lines. Timenn
Yes, in the books after Dune the existence of the Atreides and Harkonnen disappears and you learn more about the other houses, but for me Dune is the only good book from the six (or more already?, FH is dead and someone is still writing...) nampigai
The Atreides blood line continues ;). Well I just think that Westwood are doing a really bad job at showing out the Atreides and Harkonnen, but that's just my opinion.
Timenn
Yes that's true, but WW did well to create new persons and story, instead of taking over the story of Dune and modify it to a war and put the Ordos somewhere in it.
nampigai
Well I can recognice feyd, raban and the Baron, in the Harkonnen, characters.
