Playing Emperor Online

This seems to be an unknown subject with a lot of Emperor players,to play Empy in a 6 or 8 player game without it lagging really bad,Shadows must be switched off in game options.

Last night I discovered a few people were still playing with shadows on low,this lags the game !

Having done a few tests when WOL went down last year,with 3 other players,I can verify that SHADOWS cause lag, no matter how good a connection is.

Game speed must be on 8 all graphics on low,shadows off.This applies to games with more than 2 players.ok !

Well, I set my colour to 16 bit, landscape to medium, and shadows to medium. On this setting, I pretty much never lag on the performance side, even with more than 2 players. The game speed is always on default for me.

I've never played with shadows completely off, and have never experienced really bad lag with shadows on. Perhaps it's the system specs that you should be looking at, rather than making a general statement that one solution fits all.

How often co you play online ? what is your WOL nick ?

The settings I mentioned above are what I use when I play online. Offline, I play with everything turned up to the max, and it only really lags when there are 7 hard AI players on a large map with lots of units on the screen firing.
