Windows ASPI

Does anyone know what WNASPI32.dll and ASPI32.sys mean ?

Apparently Nero Info tool is reporting my ASPI installation as corrupt.

How do I repair or install them ? :-

its somesthing to do with CD and DVD software, you can download it from several places, this is a brief description from the net..... " Wnaspi32.dll is a special system file for use with CD and DVD software. You may need this file if it was not included with your programs and they respond with "wnaspi32.dll not found" or a similar error message. It is only for use on Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP but ***NOT for Win98***."

Yeah Thanks Shygirl ! I managed to find it on the net and download it.etc.

I seem to have a strange problem with my Windows installer.MSI.exe.

Everytime I install new hardware I have to un-install my firewall and re-install it, otherwise I can't connect to the Internet at all.

Weird problem.?

you know what happens when the Windows installer get's corrupt I hope ?. . . you'l b ein more trouble then just if Explorer would totally crash. . . ;D ;) :-X

if for some reason the Windows installer would no longer function properly. . . you can't install programm's anymore .. the only way to fix that is to update Windwos installer. . .and guess what . .. to install / update installer you will need to instal it. . . which is what you no longer can do. . ..

Yes but a new installation of windows would fix that, would it not ?

Actually I've been told that it is possible to extract win files in DOS.

To repair win MSI.

there hasn't be a version of DOS sinds WinNT5.

A new installation of would fix any error your computer has. . . and installing Windows because your installer has crashed is insane. . . .

Ok. I meant command prompt.

Is this a riddle or are you saying it's better to leave it as it is?

I don't know how you can install programms [ MSI installer programms ] from the command prompt . .if that is possible to begin with.

Which part are you refering to as riddle. . ?

With the Extract command it's possible, but you have to know the exact paths.

you can create a script that extracts the files for your. . it places them in the correct directories by default...
