The X-Files? (May include spoilers.)

I never saw the end of the X-Files, but I was a "bigger" fan before (around episodes 1-7).

So, my question is, what was the end? D

It wasn't the ending I was silently expecting. . but I found the climax in the last year quite good.

I think Chris Carter (the "inventor" of the X-Files) confuses his creations all the time. For example, the black oil was, what I can remember, a living alien all by itself. Then, all of a sudden, it became a virus (Black Cancer?), that the aliens (the greys, gray skin, black eyes, you know) used to conquer living things with. Then, in "X-Files the movie", it was the aliens blood.

Then there is all the aliens. If I'm correct, there is three different aliens, the greys, the resistance (the dudes without mouths and eyes etc), and the black liquid one. Okay, we got that, but is the aliens in "the movie" an entie new race, or some kind of mutation of the greys?

Overall, I liked the X-Files. I didn't really appreciate the "monster-files", when Mulder and Scully solves cases involving monsters, magic, ghosts, etc, everything outside the alien-stuff. It somehow doesn't fit, and I suspect it is somehow an excuse to make the series running.
