Atomic Mitten
I just made an interesting discovery !!!Windows XP Pro , DX 9.0B and Emperor do not like each other.I just thought i'd try out my theory, I just installed DX 8,1 and ran Emperor, not only was my anti-virus software running but all my other progs, including two firewalls !I even had the forum page running in the background,I played a single player skirmish game, with no lag whatsoever.I think that Emp doesn't like DX 9.0B at all. ;)
Nyarlathotep
How did you install an older version of DirectX over a newer one ?
Atomic Mitten
With my Sparkle Geforce4 mx 440 128Mb card's installation CD.It has all the versions of Direct X,from vers 5 to vers 9.0.I just clicked on version 8,1 and installed it over DX 9.0B. No problem ! ;)

Atomic Mitten
To tell the truth, I'm not sure whether it has or not. When I got the installing diag box, it reported installation successful. But when I ran DX diag again it reports DX9.0B being installed ??? >:(
