Not a problem, I figured it was my mistake/misinterpretation as I'm doing accounting assignment.

Well if you go into your c: directory using win explorer/my computer, and then right click on each folder and see how much each uses. see which folder is using up lots of space.

Only the folder leading into my media folder which takes up four gigs, adding up all the other folders my hard drive space taken should only at a MAX be at 7.2, and even that is being loose.

Can you attach your directx file? Maybe it is you system backup system/files or something. But since you formatted computer it should not be.(like system restore can use space)

Hi Ghosthunter, try closing down all background running processors, then do a de-frag.

Looking at your DX diag I would increase your Ram, XP likes at least 512 MB.

Also I would advise you to download the modified Nvidia drivers from http://www.omegacorner.com

They cured my problem of my CPU running 100% usage.

If your PC is slowing down it usually means you've got a large cache somewhere.

Maybe IE, or Temp internet files.

Also download a program that I use alot, it even tells you if there is a problem and where,it's called Aida32.

The link is: http://www.aida32.hu/download

it's in English, so don't worry about the url.

Hope this helps. :)

Can you stop spamming every single thread with your worthless information? I'm getting sick of the Omegea driver comments, if I wanted them I'd DOWNLOAD them. Now if you have anything to contribute to me reformating I'd like to hear it...

There is a somewhat peculiar thing with xp.

If you tried to use the restore feature on the xp installation cd rom.

If you put the installation CD in the drive and reboot, where it asks you where to boot from, select from cd rom.

Proceed as if you were going to install xp again, eventually it will give you an option to repair the os.

If you want to format completely then enter your BIOS and select first boot device as floppy.

Insert the boot floppy and reboot, at the command prompt that eventually comes up(it takes quite awhile)

type in FDISK after the A: prompt.

If this doesn't help try to explain a bit clearer what exactly it is your trying to do.

I have never reformated, nor do I have the *SLIGHTEST* clue how to do so. And now I tried it once and Windows is crashing around me and I've got no clue what anyone is talking about with the BIOS and everything...Further more, I don't have any spare floppys...But about 3,000 CD-R's..

Well now I know why your so frustrated !

That happens to most people using windows, myself included.

Do you have any paperwork with your pc, like the Motherboard manual ?

When you boot up either press and hold the F2 key or the Delete key.

This should get you into the bios.

As your comp is a bit older you might see on the splash screen(that is the black screen with white letters)

the words press F2 to enter setup.

Anyway, once in the Bios go through the entries with the up down keys.

Or esc key to select another group.

Until you see an entry something like first bootable device. With the + - keys on the numeric pad you can change the order in which your computer boots.

If you don't want to try this yourself let me know.
