hehe yeah I knew it was there somewhere.

Though I think that ornithopters use suspensors, flexable polymers and other items to create a really reliable and effeciant craft.

Especially suspensors. I believe that hte engine would have to "float" inside the craft so that the extremely powerful beating of the wings wouldnt tear the ship apart.

Ornithopters have been being studdied for a while now, and they have small model sized ornithopters that have already been made.

I dont think an engine would have to float, but the craft WOULD have to be extremely well made.

for the specifications of what Dune offers? The things fly past the speed of sound when wings are fixed, they fly high subsonic speeds with flapping wings, and they beat extremely fast. There would have to be some sort of seperation of the engine from the chassie itself. at least that is my opinion.

I dont know weather or not the engine would have to be seperated from the chassis. Maybe, but I dont know.
