Holtzman's Magical Journey

I was looking in the front of my Dune Encyclopaedia and I noticed a timeline that mentioned that Holtzman was made into a cyborg and left in orbit of some planet :P Does anyone think this could show up in the Machine Crusade somewhere?

no no no no.lol Brian herbert and mcnelly didnt really get along too well and though they say different, it is really obvious to me at least. Brian has openly said that Dune Encyclopedia is just "fan fiction" of sorts and that he wouldnt add anything from the DE to his books. By the way, have you read the story of ibrahim von holtzmen? it is one of the coolest parts in the DE, he is so damn cool in there compared to what brian does to him.

I agree. The story of Holtzman in the DE is quite good. Very interesting. It's a pity the Holtzman of the Prequels is more of a doddering old fool than the neat-o character he is in the DE.

Yeah, I agree, though I do like the idea of him kinding one uping his assistant byu stealing the work he is known for, lol. But the DE story is much more interesting.

I know Brian and Mcnelly didn't agree on much, which is made painfully obvious very often.

lol yes, they say they are completely civil about it, but mcnelly is an ass, and I can understand why brian wouldnt ever want his help.lol I also got the feeling that frank got tired of mcnelly, almost like mcnelly constantly hounded him like some giddy fan, sucking up to him.lol

oh I totally agree, everybody in duniverse knows that I favor DE, and am one of the bigger supporters of it here. still truth is truth, and I would rather take my bets to hang out with brian than mcnelly. Especially now that he is dead, wouldnt want to hang around too long with a dead person... hmm lol

I enjoyed the Holtzmann in DE as well but, I felt that he was more of a superhero kind of a guy. Brian's interpretation made him a little more realistic; since most dreamers, genius, etc. are bunch of morons. I should know I do a lot of Day dreaming in my time... ::)
