I recently borrowed a copy of Splinter Cell (An excellent game, by the way), but I'm having trouble with the movies at the beginning of each level. I believe these movies to be in Bink (*.bik) format, like E:BfD and, I suspect, Morrowind, since I've been having problems with it's movies as well.

When they are running, the video seems to fun just peachy, but the sound only comes in "chunks" - you'll hear stuff, followed by a pause, then more stuff, then a pause, then more...

if anyone has a possible diagnosis or solution, I'd love to hear it. Thanks in advance.

And yes, my drivers are up to date, and the game is patched.

You could try to change the DMA settings of your CDrom drive and cash reading .. . . it is crazy enough that it might even work .. ???
