zamboe
I am trying to install emperor on a friend's pc that has XP.After a succesfull installation and patching and seting up to use compatibility mode (w95) it just cannot load the game, it only gets to the EA and Westwood logo (and doing so very slow and freezing every second to resume another second and freezing again) after it closes and return to the xp desktop.Plz advice.[attachment archived by Gobalopper]
gryphon
Ok, a few things yoou could try .. . 1 lower your refresh rate and resolution2 try updating the video drivers using the WinXP update feature3 update the drivers from NVidia and if that doesn't work try a earlier release of the drivers. And you might want to have a look at this over at Westwood. Nyarlathotep
Weird, with your videocard driver, it reads:Driver Version: 6.14.0010.4403 (English)DDI Version: 7Driver Attributes: Final RetailDriver Date/Size: 5/2/2003 15:19:00, 3180171 bytes.According to me the ddi version should be 9. Like Gryphon said, try reinstalling the videocard drivers.
