Well I rather meant the Missile and rocket effects. Also, the Siege tank shell is different. I always lacked a medium-speed time ratio in Dune 2k. When I play against CPU on the beginning I use the fastest speed, but when it gets hotter I slow it down, so I can control the battlefield and base defence. I recently installed HD pack to Dune 2k and I found out the 1024-768 version is the most suitable for me (my desktop resolution is 1280x1024). There could be a little zoom in your mod.
Im very happy with the progress you make. Just wondering one thing - will you try to make this mod look more like old Dune 2000 in terms of graphics? I mean, the special effects, units movement, zoom. I played this mod andenjoyed it, but still couldn't feel the real Dune 2000. I dont know how to put this, I just miss the atmosphere this game created.
I'm downloading the portable version. Thank you very much. I'm curious of the survival mode ;) UPDATE: My AVG thinks 2 files from this pack are infected + the game wants internet connection right on start - strange I would say. But anyway, I have the same issue as before, the screen flickers. I tried compatibility modes without any progress.
You can request such things but as far as I can see Dune 2000 modding scene is very little. It may be resulted by difficulties in editing Dune 2k code.
It's weird that on Windows7 Dune2k works much better than on WinXp. On Xp I can't see the whole screen, a little of left side is missing. It's not a real issue for me, just letting you know it's not a rule that newer OS is worse for Dune. It only needs 16 bits in game. On desktop I use 1280x1024x60hz.
I played on Win Xp with gameranger perfectly fine. I'm trying to get it working on Windows7, but my friends are offline and I have no one to test it with. I would be glad to play with you guys, my nick on gameranger is awm. I'll try to be online as often as possible.
I'm trying to get it working with my friends. When I host a game, it takes me to 8/16 bit mode option. They have "waiting for host message". Any advices?
If you can help me, I've got another problem. Me and my friend have XP and Dune is working fine. 2 other guys have Vista. Both of them installed IPX driver from XP, but only one of them can see LAN button in Dune (he couldnt see it before we tried TCP IP/LAN .dat file. They both have Dune with TCP IP/LAN now. EDIT: Issue has been fixed by installing IPX driver to Hamachi network.
