    A thought

Why bother sending it to westwood? you could write it on a post-it® note, stick it on their forehead, and beat it profusly with a 2 by 4 and they still wouldn't give you any reply other than "Thank you, Your comments are appreciated!"
  2. when your infantry swarm my devastator i might just have to self destruct it!
  3. And aren't we forgetting to add shields and LASGUNS!!! MUAHAHAHAHAHA! err.... sorry about that But Potential game elements should include more air units, troop/unit transports, stone burners, more ground units, Fedaykin, and hero-type units like Muad-dib, Duncan idaho, Feyd Rautha (perhaps), stilgar, and such. New factions like the guild (not CHOAM), benegesserit witches, and pehaps instead of ordos, perhaps Corrino since it is actually in the books. Interstellar travel should be a part of missions and maps. and as an additional resource, water should have to be paid for units (mainly infantry) collected slowly by windtraps or captured Fremen storage tanks. Stone Burners could remake shroud temporarily, too (for more realism)
  4. Well, folks, you have to understand that Jeff did not notice the 'sand' in sandtides, and he must think that SiO is the chemical composition of water

  7. Im also having problems, i installed the game and played for a few weeks, then mysteriously, the game no longer worked. I reinstalled the game some 30 times and i try to start the game. All i get is a black screen. then when i click, it sends me to a messed up windows screen (the resolution is lower) and the game absolutely will not start, i have tried different ways of installing and that does not work either. running on: pentium II 133 mhz; 64 MB RAM; 3DFX Banshee GFX accel.; and have over 500 MB free hard disk space
  8. Let us first list the major strategy games of today: The AoE series, a well designed game with accurate historical factions; Total Annhilation, good gameplay (lets not mention the Kigdoms spinoff); The C&C line, excellent in my opinion; Starcraft, which i think had the right idea with faction differences; and Dune. AoE and the expansion are fun, for a while, the teams are monotonously the same, whatever the small differences, although the terrain was well designed. AoE: AoK is my personal favorite because it has great gameplay, and great teams. Total Annhilation had great gameplay, but its "150 unique units" were actually 75 with slighlt different designs. Command and Conquer was an excellent game that had a stupendously great storyline (especially C&C: RA) and had awesome mission flexibility, the teams each had good unique units on both sides in all games. Starcraft had a good design, however i think the resource gathering was a little lame (i mean, come on, marines from crystals?) but the teams had total differences and had nothing in common, this is this games biggest pro in my opinion. Finally we look at Dune 2K. This game has an excellent blend of storyline and personality, but the units are almost all the same, sure, in a Tech level 2 game, id pick the Ordos any day with their Raiders, but there were only around 3 unique units per team. I like the starport and the incredibly useful thumpers. The resources are fitting, seeing as they coincide with the storyline and the original book. The worms are an excellent addition, providing some indigenous life forms that you can twist to your use. The Terrain is repetitive--all maps look alike--and this causes some boredom other than picking maps with the most spice and barriers.
