Everytime I restart my computer I get a messsage saying the shortcut for GMT cannot be found. Then, yesterday, I accidently clicked yes when it said the closest thing it could find was the uninstall, and should I make the shortcut link to that. What is GMT? Can I jsut uninstall it? If not, how do I get the shortcut workign again?

Why are computers such pains in the ass?

I've been using adware for awhile now, just used it again this morning for the weekly check, deleted nine things. Haven't restarted sice then. I'll see if that makes a difference.

Well I think you can safely delete that shortcut to the uninstall thing. Also check your startup folder and make sure the shortcut is gone from there as well.

Failing that, you can remove registry entries manually with the registry editor (Startrun: regedit). ctrl+f to search for something in the registry, maybe GMT or Gator or something. Delete the stuff you think is linked to this GMT thing but be careful not to delete anything else that looks like it belongs there. This has happened to me many times, where I've uninstalled programs from the Add/Remove Programs window in Control Panel but parts of them had remained on my system. I had three versions of Napster, a clocksync program and a whole bunch of other stuff that I had uninstalled long ago but still appeared in the Control Panel. Cleaning them from the registry fixed the problem though.
