The terrain is drawn with only the original Dune 2 data (extracted automatically).

The buildings are drawn with the original Dune 2 data and only the following table:

3, 3, 4,

2, 2, 6,

2, 2, 4,

I think icon.icn and icon.map are finally useful.

i made frames out of all tiles. So i don't use the technique you probably use. My cells are just defined for terrain. Structure drawing is done seperatly. This is also done with the view on modability.

I draw terrain and buildings separately too, although it'd probably be faster to skip terrain drawing if a building is on top.

yes, that would be faster. Especially when having a lot of structures you will save the cpu from drawing things twice.

The dune 2 way , which i think is just every cell is a dune 2 icon and a group defined as structures, is therefor very fast. THe terrain is also structures at once ;)
