RTCW Issue

Hello,

I recently re-installed Return to Castle Wolfenstein. This was after I had to re-format my computer because of corrupt files and put Windows XP onto my machine. Other then the XP difference nothing other has changed.

Now when I start RTCW up everything seem's to go fine, the little loading box appears and the screen darkens in game preperation. Thing is it flickers a few times and then suddenly goes back to the loading screen and I get this (Refer ti screenshot). Thing is none of my other games that I have installed have been acting up.

Resolutions Done:

New Drivers

Defraged

Closed background programs and virus scanners

Now, I have not re-insatalled but I will do so if nessacary though I'm doubtful of it's help.

Before upgrading to XP did you delete the old Windows partitions and recreate XP partitions before the format? What version of windows did you upgrade from?

I upgraded from Windows ME though I didn't do the job myself trained professionals did, every other game runs fine.

Do you have a 3dfx video card? If so did you setup RTCW to use glide drivers as opposed to OpenGL? I would suggest starting RTCW in safe mode (from the startmenu) and setting the GL extensions to yes.

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode ?

What 3dfx card do you have? voodoo 3?, 4 or 5?
