Keep the Hearth Fires Burning

Whether you are for the war or against it, or one of the millions who, like me, have mixed feelings regarding it, the fact remains that our husbands, wives, children, parents and friends in the military are going into danger, and our feelings cannot change the events that have been set into motion. This war, in many ways, is Abrahamicist versus Abrahamicist, making it even more poignant that so many in our military, the very people fighting and maybe dying for whatever reason, are Modern Pagans and Heathens, uninvolved in the Abrahamic faiths in any way but still potential victims of strife between Christians, Muslims and Jews.

The time has come to change our prayers from prevention of war to bringing our soldiers home. We, male or female, have become the keepers of the hearth fires, and it is up to us to direct our energies toward the preservation and protection of our soldiers, especially the Pagan and Heathen ones who are so often left out of the Sunday prayers of the very people whose names they may die in. Make no mistake-this war will be said to be in our names no matter how we object or who we voted for. Wrong or right doesn

I say we do something more productive like starting a drive for the soldiers (already some communities around here have shoe drives) or the soldiers' families.
