Another CoD Review and Weekly Series Info

DuneLak has found another review of CoD, this time at CFQ. Perhaps the most interesting part of the review isn't the review at all, but one short sentence saying that the weekly TV series FED2k has been following since last July may be about the adventures of a Duncan Idaho ghola. Checking EDward Atterton's schedule at IMDb it looks like this may be possible. But, like all rumours, it's more than likely that this one is false.

Now, back to the reivew: It is, like all the rest, positive, but with a couple complaints. This review takes issue with the dialogue and Sarandon's acting, and calls the miniseries a little bit silly, but generally avoids the problems of the first mini. Here's an excerpt:

Yaitanes brings added verisimilitude to the Dune universe and there is plenty of eye candy to go round — no mean feat in a production as unavoidably talky as this. The Guild Navigator in the opening episode is a hoot, the worm-capture sequence in the desert spectacular, and the “closing of accounts” at the end of the “Dune Messiah” segment not unfittingly reminiscent of The Godfather.

Side note: The CoD Review Archive is now up.
