Enough CoD News for Any Addict

The Sci-fi channel is really pumping out the CoD info right now. I still have the video interview to view though, so expect this article to be edited later on.

First up is an interview with director Greg Yaitanes, where he answers questions ranging from the technical (How will Scytale's Face Dancer morphing be portrayed?) to content-wise (Will the scenes with [spacing Guild Ambassador] Edric in his tank be in the miniseries?). It is remarkably informative, going into much detail with each question asked. Some interesting points: Edric is going to be completly CGI, the backgrounds of the desert are now completley CGI, the costumes have been toned down, and because of monetary and time issues, certain characters (such as Jessica) will not have blue-in-blue eyes. Oh yeah, and there are constant plugs for the inevitable Special Edition DVD.

Next up is a short story written by prequel author Brian Herbert about his trip to the CoD set. It begins talking about the history of Dune (print and film) and a plug for his Dreamer of Dune book due out later this year (I hope the sci-fi channel gets royalties for all these products they are advertising). Then we spend a long time reading about his difficulties renting a car, and about three quarters down you finally get to the good stuff: The CoD production. A few paragraphs later and you are reading about his trip back home and more about his rental car, and the fact that to this day he hasn't paid his bill because the company ripped him off. Oh yeah, a leprechaun named Murphy was somewhere in cars engine pulling wires. Oh, those crazy Herbert kids, what trouble will they get into next?

Following this we've got a new video interview, this time with executive producer Richard Rubinstein.

There there's the always popular Ask John Harrison update, where he talks about the special effects and why he aged Leto II and Ghanima. Nothing really new here.

To top it off, we at FED2k have almost finished updating our CoD section with all our new info, such as 61 new pics, a new plot synopsis of the entire miniseries, production notes, and direct links to the trailers and interviews. We should hopefully have all this stuff finished in the next day or so.
