i cannot get emperor installed on my computer. the autoplay menu starts up, i click install, and it goes for a while, and then locks my computer up..

a year ago, i had it installed, but if i played the game for a while, it locked up about 5 minutes through play.

i have a computer that meets all system specs.

is there a patch i need or something??

2 things you can try:

1) Try this patch: ftp.westwood.com/pub/emperor/update/EMPENGINSTFIX10.ZIP

2) Try to copy the setup folder from cd to your harddrive. Leave the cd in the cdrom and start the setup from the harddrive.

A tip before you're going to play online: read the mini FAQ's: "ken's harkonen mini FAQ" and "ken's mini ordos FAQ" in the strategy forum, i haven't made 1 for atreides, but i'm not planning on making one either, the information in those 2 topics are very usefull for newbies in single and multi player ;)
