how to extract sounds from music.bag etc.

Recommended Posts

You need a program called BagTool. Unzip the contents of the .zip file, then run the BagTool program. Go to 'Open Bag File' in the File menu, or just click on the yellow folder icon just below the File manu. Now search for the music.bag file that you want to read, and open it in the 'Select a bag file to read' dialog box.

A list of files should appear below in the table. Right click on the file name you want to extract, and select 'Extract' in the menu that pops up. Save the file to anywhere you like. Now you should be able to double click on the file to play it in Winamp, or Windows Media Player.

Alternatively, you could just double click on a file in the list to automatically listen to it, but this will save it into a temporary directory in your windows directory, which is why I like to extract it manually and save it in a location, just in case I want to listen to it again in the future.

You can extract music from your Emperor CDs as well, just follow the same process, but look for the .bag file in the CD instead of in your WestwoodEmperorDataMusic directory.
